We tested our 4GB SD module in a 'high motion content' application (motorcycle woods race) and found that in D1 mode (720x480) we could record 148 minutes of action - about 2.5 hours! And when we set the resolution to DVD quality (640x480) we got a huge 173 minutes - that's nearly 3 hours! Finally we tested the same high motion content in the 320x240 resolution mode and recorded a whopping 20+ hours of action!

NOTE: All helmet cameras come equipped with the 3.6mm lens which is the best all around lens. There are applications where a wider angle lens (2.6mm) would be better suited such as when our helmet cameras are used in close quarters military combat missions. Also, fighter pilots will often mount our helmet cameras on their instrument clusters looking back at the pilot. In these instances, the 2.6mm lens works great. Other applications require more of a zoom. For example, sport riders wanting to video tape their friend in front of them during track days will opt for the 6.0mm lens so they can capture a clearer image of their buddy without being right on their tail. For safety reasons, they can stay back a bit more and still capture clear, crisp images. Fighter pilots using our helmet cameras while mounting our camera on their helmets will sometimes opt for an 8.0 mm lens when dropping bombs, refueling missions, ect. The 8mm lens which provides more of a zoom works great in this application. Just remember, the lower the number the wider the angle. The higher the number, the higher the zoom.
